The Acting Is Better: Maybe it’s because the franchise’s stars are one year older. Perhaps it’s because of director Chris Weitz. Or, most likely, the stars have the confidence of now knowing that these films will be seen by millions and are feeling more comfortable stepping into the skin of the characters they’ll be known as forever. Whatever the reason, every returning actor is better in this film than in “Twilight.” Most notable is Taylor Lautner — who displays incredible screen presence and physicality in his first true starring role — and Kristen Stewart, who perfectly conveys the heartbreak and insanity of Bella’s fractured mental state with every scream, sob and adrenaline-fueled wicked grin. It Looks Great: Despite what some critics had to say, the original “Twilight” was charming because it felt like such an odd, low-budget take on a high-budget-aspiring franchise. Now, it seems, the little-film-that-could is all grown up. Weitz has hired some very talented CG masters to bring the wolves, vampires and cliff dives to believable life. The look of “New Moon” has an epic quality reminiscent of an old-fashioned event film. This plays perfectly for a saga about centuries-old vampires and “Romeo and Juliet”-esque sweeping romance. In short, the movie still didn’t have a “Transformers”-size budget at its disposal, but Weitz put every penny he could up on the screen, and it shows. It Sets Up “Eclipse” Perfectly: Many plotlines are set into motion that won’t pay off until summer 2010, and the film ends with a minor but very important tweak. All in all, it satisfies but leaves you wanting more — particularly since the final line of the movie will stay with you long after the credits roll. The New Characters Rock: Take a good look at any successful movie franchise from “Star Wars” to “Trek” to “Harry Potter,” and you’ll see the emergence of new key supporting characters in the sequels. Well, “New Moon” has plenty of Yoda-like standouts to choose from. The wolf pack start off like real jerks, but they eventually bring a lighthearted, frat-boy-like vibe that helps the film’s tone immensely. The Volturi, meanwhile, completely hijack the final third of the film in the best way possible. As Aro, Michael Sheen gives a Walken-esque performance of over-the-top audacity, while Dakota Fanning is legitimately terrifying in a too-small role. Another inevitable fan fave is Daniel Cudmore’s Felix, who doesn’t get to speak much — but then again, he doesn’t need to. The Line Has Been Walked: Imagine how difficult it would be to take Stephenie Meyer’s beloved novels, subtract enough to fit time constraints and add enough to make things more cinematic without angering the fanbase. Credit should be given to Weitz and screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, whose additions and tweaks — a more visible Victoria, a more-involved Edward, a more playful Bella — are note-perfect. “New Moon” is a triumph for Twilighters. If only! Many news outlets are reporting that Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz, and Chris Weitz will be holding a private screening of New Moon in New York City on November 19th. We do know that the cast will be in Times Square wrapping up the last leg of the Mall Tour however the information surrounding the screening is very sketchy. We have all the information for you and it’s time to get your reporting cap on and figure out what is going on. CharityBuzz.com is a charity website that teams up with celebrities and other organizations around the globe to help raise money for different foundations. Currently they are auctioning off a walk on role in The Other Guys with Mark Wahlberg and Will Farrell and a chance to meet Oprah backstage. Over the past year CharityBuzz has offered many fun Twilight themed packages such as a signed Peter Facinelli jersey and a trip to the LA red carpet on Monday November 16th. As of yesterday, CharityBuzz was auctioning off two tickets to the NYC New Moon screening with the cast which got much attention from fans. The rumors began so quickly and before you knew it, the cast of New Moon was coming to NYC for a New Moon red carpet event. Desperate for information, PopStar reached out to Summit’s publicity team who assured us that there would be “no NY premiere.” As of today the auction on CharityBuzz has been taken down which leads us to believe that there was some miscommunication between the sources. So the question that remains, will there really be a New Moon screening and if so who is going and how can one get tickets? In a new interview with PopStar, director Chris Wetiz mentioned that he has already seen New Moon like 100 times and we all know the cast saw the film in Vancouver while shooting The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. So why would they be holding a screening for the actors unless it involved the fans? You’ve been given all the facts, try to unravel the mystery behind the NYC New Moon Screening/Premiere. Rumor has it, Taylor Lautner has got an approval from Andrea Swift to date her famous daughter Taylor Swift. Hollyscoop on Wednesday, November 11 reported that the “Twilight” hunk has been permitted to go on a date with the young country music songstress. “Taylor is breathing a huge sigh of relief because he’s gotten the seal of approval from Andrea Swift,” a source stated. “He was warned in advance that Taylor’s mom can be brutal, and she advised him to bring his A-game to their first meeting.” The source went on explaining, “Andrea came prepared with a list of rules for dating her daughter: No clubs, no Hollywood parties, and always remember that her career comes first. She also told Taylor that if there was even a whiff of scandal or cheating, he’d be banned from seeing her.” Later, the source continued, “Taylor’s still on his best behavior. And he knows if their romance is to have a chance, he’s got to stay in her mom’s good graces.” News on Taylor Lautner romancing Taylor Swift first emerged on October 9, during when he was caught attending her Chicago concert. Then, on October 26, he finally met her mother during dinner at Bistro Garden restaurant in Studio City, California. SOURCE: AceShowBiz |

“It was so weird to see that long hair on me,” Taylor said. “It was very itchy, hot, and annoying. “It not only was uncomfortable. But when I looked at myself in the mirror I wouldn’t be able to recognize myself.” Taylor also described how his unruly hair came between him and co-star Kristen Stewart (Bella) when they filmed romantic scenes. “(The wig hair) would get caught in my mouth, and I would be spitting it out in this scene where I’m coming close to kissing Bella,” he recalled. “It was annoying.” Understandably, ditching the wig was cause for celebration: “The last day of filming with the wig, we ripped it off, put it up in the air, and the whole crew gave a standing ovation,” Taylor revealed. “It was amazing to take that thing off.” SOURCE: Entertainment Wise |
