TAYLOR Lautner clearly had the hots for Taylor Swift!

The hunky Twilight star, 17, reportedly splashed out more than $50k on gifts for the singer’s 20th birthday on December 13.

Because Swift loves the number 13, Lautner had a special surprise of 13 ornately wrapped presents.

“The gifts included a $50,000 ruby necklace, a stuffed teddy bear and even a poster of Kanye West — who wrecked Taylor’s VMA appearance — as a gag,” a source told American tabloid the National Enquirer.

Swift was delighted with the gifts, reportedly telling pals, “I was going from extreme happiness to surprise to outright laughter. Thanks to him, it was the best birthday I’ve ever had.”

However, the presents weren’t enough to keep the couple’s romance alive — on December 29, 2009 it was announced the two Taylors had split.

“It was never a big deal to begin with. The media made way more out of it than it is,” a source close to Swift told People magazine. “They went out on a few dates and realized this was just not going anywhere.”
