It ain’t easy looking buff next to weight-room prodigy Taylor Lautner, but that’s precisely the task at hand for “Twilight” wolf pack leader Chaske Spencer (that’s him on the right).

As alpha dog for the lupine gang, Spencer’s character Sam Uley has to up his game in the muscle department for each installment, especially for the franchise’s final film (or films?), “Breaking Dawn.”

I caught up with Spencer making the rounds at “Access Hollywood’s” Stuff You Must gift lounge in celebration of the Golden Globes. He’s looking plenty worked out, but still took some tips from renowned celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak.

“He wants to put more muscle mass on,” Pasternak said of his chat with Spencer at New Balance’s Fierce Trax booth.

“Looking big and muscular on screen isn’t about being big, it’s about symmetry, definition and proportion.”

Pasternak, who trained Robert Pattinson on the first film and the recent juggernaut “New Moon,” advised Spencer to avoid typical “beach muscles” like his biceps and chest. Instead, he told the 34-year-old to focus on the upper back to create a burly neckline and narrow “shoulder-to-waist ratio.”

We’re sure his efforts will be handsomely displayed when “Breaking Dawn” begins shooting this fall. Meanwhile, the young man faces rampant promotion this June for “Eclipse” and is already dreading inquires about his maybe-dating costars Pattinson and Kristen Stewart…
… the actor told me what everyone seems to be saying: We know nada!

“Rob’s a great guy; we hung out a few times on the set of ‘New Moon,’ but he’s not really in it. I’ve got a lot of scenes with Kristen, who is a strong and intelligent actress,” Spencer said.

But are they a couple?!

The werewolf simply shrugged his shoulders. At least he’s starting his workout.

How do you get a gazillion young people to help earthquake-devastated Haiti?

Have Robert Pattinson talk to them.

As you may have already heard, George Clooney is heading up a telethon on Jan. 22 to raise disaster relief funds for the Caribbean nation.

Pattinson, I’m told, is on the top of everyone’s list to take part in what will likely be an A-list effort…

Organizers, a source reveals, are aiming high and will be asking for Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner to take part.

It’s too early to say what—if anything—the world’s most famous vampire movie stars will do, but a source close to Stewart tells me, “She’d jump at the chance to do something to help.”

That something may have to be pretaped. Stewart is scheduled to be traveling to the Sundance Film Festival at the time of the telethon to promote Welcome to the Rileys and The Runaways.

Clooney first told my old pal Roger Friedman at the Hollywood Reporter that the telethon would take place on MTV. But as of this afternoon, I’m happy to report ABC, NBC, HBO and CNN have agreed to air it, too.

I really hope so, they need so much help – please donate to the Red Cross if you haven’t already!

Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson
Ages: 17 and 23

Hail From: Grand Rapids, Michigan, and London

In 2009: The guys teamed up once again on the big screen for “Twilight Saga: New Moon,” and their collective hotness and feud over Bella Swan broke box-office records. They kept their names in the gossip pages with constant speculation about their dating lives and had everyone asking the fundamental question: Team Edward or Team Jacob?

Why They’ll Be Huge in 2010: Lautner can be seen next in “Valentine’s Day” alongside former flame Taylor Swift, and he’s all set to tackle the lead role in the “Max Steel” movie. Meanwhile, Pattinson will be seen in the romance “Remember Me.” In June, the two heartthrobs will once again have girls swooning in “Twilight Saga: Eclipse.”

Choice Quote: “I think Bella’s little bit of treachery in the third one will be … I think it’s going to be a good scene,” Pattinson said of “Eclipse,” with Lautner adding, “My favorite scene in the entire series is the tent scene, where the three of us are together. And it’s gonna be really fun. There’s a lot of comedy in ‘Eclipse.’ ”

Listen up, “Twilight” fans, there’s a new vamp on the block and she’s stalking your favorite werewolf. Taylor Lautner, it’s your girl, Snooki!

When Hollywood Life asked her if she was Team Jacob or Team Edward, “Jersey Shore’s” Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi told them that “Twilight’s” teenaged lady-killer was more her type of pickle.

“Ooh, his body,” says the “Jersey Shore” vixen. “Perfect.”

Some may think Snooki is straying away from her usual type. It’s really not strange to us that the 21-year-old trash reality star would dig Taylor Lautner. One of the things we know about Snooki is her perfect type: A short, juicehead guido.

Ok, so Lautner isn’t sporting a “blowout,” but there are rumors that his guns are a result of a bit of “juicing.” Not that we believe that at all.

Plus, Snooki is only 5’2″ in hooker heels, so she’s looking for short, dark and handsome

Listen up, all you powers-that-be at Summit Entertainment: don’t even think for a MINUTE you’re going to try to axe out the hottest scene in Breaking Dawn! Not only would we be outraged, but one of your stars has our back, too!

“The books are sassy, and if [producers] completely watered down the book and didn’t show any of the [sex scenes], fans would be pissed off,” Christian Serratos, who plays Bella Swan’s bestie Angela Weber in the Twilight Saga films, told HollywoodLife.com exclusively at Think PR’s pre-Golden Globe gifting suite.

Adds the 19-year-old actress, “I don’t think there’s any reason why they’d want to exclude that stuff. That’s what makes Twilight so interesting – it’s not cookie cutter, it’s not safe, it’s not Disney. It’s this really cool, edgy love story. It’s not supposed to be your typical love story, [fans] want that sassiness. Even [author Stephenie Meyer] has said this: Breaking Dawn is the book that everyone is waiting for.”

That’s right, everyone IS waiting for Breaking Dawn’s release – mostly to see the hot, hot, HOT love scene between real-life couple Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

The Twilight series continues this June with The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, but all eyes (golden or otherwise) are on Summit Entertainment while they devise a plan for the fourth and final book, Breaking Dawn.

Rumors have persisted that Summit is preparing to split Breaking Dawn in two parts, similar to Warner Bros’ decision to separate the seventh Harry Potter. At over 750 pages, the controversial book has the most material to adapt.

In an interview with the LA Times, Twilight saga producer Wyck Godfrey confirmed ongoing discussions about two more movies, but said, “The issue [of whether there will be one or two movies] is not going to be resolved until we get the full treatment and see whether it’s organic.” Melissa Rosenberg, who scripted the first three films, is writing the fourth.

There were rumors (stemming from an E! blog) that Stephenie Meyer, the author of the Twilight novel series, was against the possible split. She clarified those false reports today in a blog post on her official website, StephenieMeyer.com.

Here’s an excerpt: “My personal feeling is that it would be very difficult to cram the whole story into one movie, but if a great way of doing that surfaces, I’m all for it. Two or one, whichever way fits the story best is fine by me, and everyone I’ve spoken with at Summit seems to feel the same way.”

Godfrey suggested a tentative Fall 2010 start date for the production, which confirms what Robert Pattinson said in November. No director has been hired yet, and regarding the rumors of a Chris Weitz return the producer said, “I think everyone would be happy and excited if he came back, but I don’t think it’s going to happen.”

Minor spoilers below:
The LAT also asked how Summit plans to include Renesmee, Bella and Edward’s half human/half vampire baby that possesses the ability to grow faster than the average infant.

“I keep having visions of ‘[The Curious Case of] Benjamin Button’ in my head,”Godfrey said, adding that Renesmee will almost certainly be an actor blended or affected with CGI. Benjamin Button“I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up being a full CG creation, but it also may be a human shot on a soundstage that then is used to shrink down.” It’s a natural comparison since the characters of Benjamin and Renesmee are in similar fantasy predicaments.

2008’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button won the Oscar for visual effects using a technology called “Contour,” a futuristic camera system created by former Apple engineer Steve Perlman. Contour allowed director David Fincher to capture the detailed facial movements of Brad Pitt, not just plotted points, and transfer the digital, photorealistic images to computers. However, it’s highly unlikely Summit will land Fincher, for various reasons the least of which is his busy schedule.

The visual effects will depend on the director’s take on the Renesmee character and his/her familiarity with the technique. More importantly, will Summit fork over the budget for something that advanced?

Just a quick note on the subject of the Breaking Dawn film: there is no drama over whether the book should be one movie or two. My personal feeling is that it would be very difficult to cram the whole story into one movie (as I’ve said in many interviews previous to this), but if a great way of doing that surfaces, I’m all for it. Two or one, whichever way fits the story best is fine by me, and everyone I’ve spoken with at Summit seems to feel the same way. We’re all excited to move forward on this, and we are slowly and surely getting there. I know people are anxious for news, and so sometimes gossip get fabricated to stir things up, but there’s no basis to this particular story.
