Post Categories: Valentine's Day

If you’ve been living under a celluloid rock, the world’s romantic comedy stars joined together in February’s hot mess, Valentine’s Day, and we got treated to tons of celebs popping up for a few minutes here and there in the mostly-OK flick.

Did you miss it? Perhaps you did.

We got Jessica Alba, Bradley Cooper, Anne Hathaway, Ashton Kutcher, Jessica Biel and a ton of other stars showing off their rom-com chops. Including former lovebirds Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner.

For the two pretty teens, this film lit the spark in their once-fiery relationship (Tay-Squared, anyone?). So you can guess how freakin’ interested we were when a certain knowledgeable source dropped a hint about the film’s upcoming sequel, New Year’s Eve…

Turns out it features an all-new cast of characters (quick, somebody call Jennifer Aniston, and please nobody tell Gerard Butler). Unless, of course, one particular starlet is asked to stay—none other than darling Swift!

“They were thinking about having Taylor Swift be in college at NYU,” whispers one of our sneakiest sources (who’s directly involved with the sequel project). “They were throwing her name out there a while back.”

If this is comes to pass, Taylor would probably be the one single cast member returning for the sequel, with the exception of director Garry Marshall mainstay favorite Hector Elizondo, who would return as the grandfather figure.

That’s great and stuff, but what’s burning on our minds is, would the other half of Tay-Squared also make a return appearance in the sequel?

“I don’t think Taylor Lautner would come back,” sassed our source. “They only mentioned Taylor Swift, and she’s not even in right now.”

The chances are slim of both toothy types returning, but ooh, we can just imagine the gooey stuff that would be an on-screen Taylor-Taylor reunion! Can’t you?!

Post Categories: Abduction

Long before actor Taylor Lautner showed up in Forward Township to film the new movie “Abduction,” friction existed between the Police Department and a township supervisor. But the bad blood grew worse when Forward Township Supervisor Tom DeRosa was scolded for trying to take a picture of Lautner, and police refused to help him take action against the production crew.

“We have a police force right now that is dysfunctional,” DeRosa told Channel 4 Action News’ Jim Parsons.

DeRosa said he tried last month to snap a photo of Lautner for his 13-year-old daughter.

“He said, ‘You took a picture this morning of my son,’” DeRosa said.

“This was Taylor Lautner’s father?” Parsons asked.

“His father,” DeRosa said. “I said, ‘Oh, bud, I didn’t know that.’ I said, ‘I didn’t know I couldn’t take a picture.’ … He said, ‘I want you to leave.’ I’m in the township that I basically oversee, they’re strangers from California, interrupt our traffic, interrupt our people, were rude as you could get, and they tell me to leave.”

This photo was posted on u local by a WTAE Channel 4 Action News viewer. Share photos of your celebrity sightings.
DeRosa told Parsons that he threatened to tow the film crew’s vehicles out of a municipal park unless they paid a $500 fee to the township. Forward Township police Officer Jason Miller said that when officers refused to help DeRosa, he used cars from his private dealership.

“In essence, they blocked that park in so that company could not move their property until they paid money to the township,” said Miller, who called it “extortion.”

Miller said DeRosa took revenge on the Police Department after that by seizing department computers, ordering officers to sit in their patrol cars for their entire shifts and no idling engines, meaning no air conditioning in 90-degree weather.
Miller said DeRosa interfered with a speeding ticket that he wrote to the supervisor’s friend. Miller said the situation reached a breaking point Wednesday when DeRosa demanded to know his private cell phone number.

“And when I refused, they told me to take your gun off, take your badge off, give me your keys, you’re done,” said Miller.
Miller was fired after 11 years on the job. DeRosa admitted to firing him because he refused to reveal his cell phone number.

What if Taylor Lautner, aka Jacob Black in the Twlight Saga franchise of movies, were to join forces with the unstoppable, perfectly coifed Justin Bieber? It would probably be a catastrophic cataclysm of Twi-hards and Bieber-fevered fans, shrieking until they could shriek no more. While we might never know, there is a new parody music video that combines Jacob’s love of Bella with the Biebs’ catchy song, “Baby.”

With a few subtle lyric changes and an uncanny T-Laut vocal impression, this video could be the next big YouTube hit. What do you think?

Post Categories: Abduction

Aug. 03–In Sutersville, a town of fewer than 700 people, the upcoming presence of a movie star is not easy to hide.

Rumors have been spreading since June about filming of the movie “Abduction” in Sutersville, a borough along the Youghiogheny River in the southwest corner of Westmoreland County that borders Allegheny County.

Shooting will begin there sometime this week.

Fans on blogs are abuzz with the news, posting directions to the tiny town and warning about tight security.

Taylor Lautner, well-known for his role as werewolf Jacob Black in the “Twilight” series, will star in “Abduction,” being directed by John Singleton to tell the tale of a young man who discovers his baby picture on a missing person’s website.

The 18-year-old star has attracted attention throughout the Pittsburgh area as filming has been under way in areas of Forward Township and Mt. Lebanon, where the actor is staying.

Lautner has made surprise appearances to greet fans — many of them teenage girls — at Hampton High School and the Loews movie theater at the Waterfront.

Post Categories: Breaking Dawn

Last month, as “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” got off to a stellar (if not record-breaking) start at the box office, MTV News squashed the widely held assumption that the second part of “Breaking Dawn” would definitely arrive in the summer of 2012. As Summit Entertainment exec Richie Fay told us, the studio was exploring multiple dates in mid- to late-2012, not just possible openings that would fall when school’s out of session.

Now, Summit has officially announced that “Breaking Dawn, Part 2″ will open November 2012, and with that, another assumption seems to be taking hold among fans and on the Web: After “Eclipse” failed to wildly out-gross “New Moon” at the box office, Summit got spooked about a summer release date and fled to more familiar autumn territory. But based on our conversations with Summit and box-office analysts, that’s simply not the case.

First off, it’s important to note that despite all this talk about a weaker-than-expected performance for “Eclipse,” its $289 million haul will eventually surpass the $297 million that “New Moon” pulled in last fall, according to Box Office Mojo.

When you consider that sequels like “Shrek Forever After” and “Sex and the City 2″ underperformed in the crowded summer movie season, Summit has got to be extremely pleased with the box-office business of “Eclipse.” So if it’s not a fear of summer that persuaded Summit to deliver both “Breaking Dawn” films in the fall, then what was it? A careful examination of the 2012 summer calendar.

“The lesson is that it’s all about positioning a film at a time when it will face as little direct competition as possible,” explained Phil Contrino, editor of BoxOffice.com. “Summit was wise to stay away from Summer 2012, because it’s shaping up to be a record-breaking season.”

“The Avengers,” “Madagascar 3″ and “Men in Black 3″ are all set to drop that May, followed by “Star Trek 2″ in June, and then new installments of “Spider-Man” (which already occupies the Fourth of July slot held this year by “Eclipse”), “Ice Age” and “Batman.”

“Why compete with an amazing slate like that if you don’t have to?” Contrino added. “I’m sure “Breaking Dawn, Part 2″ would still open very well during a summer that crowded, but its audience would be devoured very quickly.”

The point, then, is not that summer is a poor time in which to release a “Twilight” film but that fall simply presents less competition, which is not to say that there will be no box-office battle in autumn. “Breaking Dawn, Part I” is set to open against “Happy Feet 2″ on November 18, 2011, while the second in the two-part finale will compete with “Monsters Inc. 2″ on November 16, 2012. But when you consider the more jam-packed summer season and the fact that an entire year will have passed between “Twilight” flicks — as opposed to the eight months between “New Moon” and “Eclipse” — the fall 2012 release date makes perfect sense.

“There’s a mood and spirit to these movies that make them play really well in the fall. They’re darker, they’re more emotional than standard summer fare, and thematically, fall is a great fit,” said John Singh, a box-office analyst for Flixster. “It also allows the audience to build even greater anticipation — rather than seeing the follow-up just a few months later. This gives them a full year to anticipate the final film in a series that has generated hugely positive response from its fanbase.”

Getting Taylor Lautner’s washboard abs isn’t far out of reach, according to Jordan Yuam, Lautner’s personal trainer and founder of Jordan’s Virtual Fit Club. To get a cut stomach, you need to eat right, focus on doing the exercises properly and give your body time to recover.

EAT WITH YOUR ABS IN MIND

“Eating is 90% of getting the abs to come in,” says Yuam. Its true no matter how strong or defined the muscles are, if they are covered by a layer of fat no high intensity training program alone will work. To get a lean muscle mass, you must put down the cheeseburgers and alcohol, stay away from processed foods and try substituting green tea for your coffee.

Recently on Oprah, Dr Perricone stated “if you just replaced coffee with green tea, you could lose 10 pounds in six weeks.” Green Tea helps stabilize your blood sugar, is a powerful antioxidant and will help burn fat.

Food preservatives, diet sodas, and processed foods increase toxicity and lead to weight gain, while interfering with weight loss. “Eat foods that are organic, especially organic meat,” Yuam said.

“If you eat the right foods your body will improve its metabolic rate,” says Yuam. In Fact, restricting calories, especially protein, will only slow down your metabolism and won’t help you loss weight over the long term. Muscles are made of protein and the more you have, the more calories you burn, so don’t skip the protein.

The best way to monitor your food intake is to keep a daily food and weight journal, and then you create accountability for the food choices you’re making.

BREATHE AND FOCUS FOR A FASTER SIX PACK

When exercising, breathing and focusing on working your abdominal muscles will help your six-pack appear faster. Slowly and fully exhale when contracting the abdominals in each exercise. During his workouts, Lautner honed in on his abs for about 15-20 minutes every other day with intense concentration and Yaum made sure he focused.

The exercises that Lautner did to create his six-pack were tailored especially for his body type. You can try a few of them yourself:

1) The Hanging Leg Raise. Grab a chin up bar overhand and hang with your feet together and your knees bent slightly. Then, bend your knees to lift your thighs all the way up to your chest. When the front of your thighs reach your chest, hold the position and exhale fully. Then slowly lower your knees back to the starting position, consciously inhaling fully. Alternating between stretching and compressing will help define your abs.
2) Planks. Lay face down on a mat with your forearms and palms flat and your legs extended. Make two fists and push up onto your forearms. Then, raise up onto your toes, as if you’re going to do a push up. Your body should be a straight line, from your shoulders to your toes. Use your abdominal muscles to hold this position for as long as you can, breathing in and out the whole time. Work towards holding this position for 60-90 seconds.
3) Planks to Pikes. Start in the plank position. Then, using your abdominals and your gluteus muscles, slowly raise your hips to the sky, so your body makes a V, for the yogis this is called down dog. Then, lower it back down into the plank position. Remember to breathe and focus on your abdominal muscles.
4) Plank Variations. Work variations of the plank into your exercise routine, such as hip planks, side planks, and single leg planks.

GIVE YOUR ABS TIME TO RECOVER

“Recovery is the most important thing if you want to see results,” says Yuam. When you work out you are actually breaking down muscle tissue. Building occurs because a signal is sent to the brain saying we need to make this muscle stronger. Abdominal muscles, like all other muscles should really only be worked every other day to get definition. Thus the secret is work them hard and then let them rest and rebuild before doing your ab routine again.

Lautner worked out with Yuam for nine months to get his body into New Moon shape. Yuam also shared some words of wisdom with us that he imparted on Lautner: “Only 25% of your life should be working out. The remaining should be your family, children, relationships, and your job.” After working with some of the most successful top professional athletes and celebrities in the world, these words of finding balance are not only the most important advice we can give, it is the only way any of us can find real lasting happiness and joy, no matter how beautiful our bodies become.
