Lionsgate is delighted to announce that Taylor Lautner will be visiting the UK this month, after fans voted in their droves to secure his visit ahead of the release of his new film ABDUCTION. When it was announced last month that Taylor would only visit the UK if there were enough facebook ‘likes’ on www.facebook.com/abductionmovieuk, fans flocked to register their support on the page. Today Taylor has confirmed his travel plans to London for the European Premiere of ABDUCTION on September 26th! To be in with a chance of winning tickets to the Premiere, make sure you fan the ABDUCTION UK page! ABDUCTION is a thriller that focuses on a youth (Lautner) who discovers the parents who raised him aren’t his real folks, a revelation that triggers events and leaves him running for his life. Okay so if you have been a fan of our fansite for a while, you will remember from 2009 a layout with exclusive Taylor Lautner photos. I have had requests for them over the past 2 years, I couldn’t post them before because the person that gave them to us specifically said not to. I got a new & faster computer a couple months ago and I don’t have the old photos. But I have the old headers from the layout so that is where 2 of the new photos came from and why they are smaller. I also have added a new photo from the shoot as well. Please do not take these images without crediting. I didn’t tag them, but make sure you credit us because you will get an e-mail. Taylor Lautner sinks his teeth into something new as the main man in Abduction, writes Emily Dunn. To the legions of Twilight fans, Taylor Lautner is so much more than the werewolf-morphing Jacob Black. The actor, also known and loved by many for his gleaming grin and chiselled torso, is the kind of teen idol girls will queue all day in all weathers just to catch a glimpse of. As happened in Sydney last month, when he appeared at a special advance screening of his first post-Twilight lead role, in the action thriller Abduction, drawing teenage girls in their hundreds clutching ”Team Jacob” signs. It has been almost four years since the Twilight film franchise made him a star and, for Lautner, the novelty is yet to wear off. Born to run … Nathan (Taylor Lautner) and Karen (Lily Collins) on the run in Abduction. ”It is not normal to get out of your car and there are thousands of fans there,” he says. ”[But] I am so thankful for the Twilight franchise, I wouldn’t be here promoting something completely different if it wasn’t for that.” While the Twilight films Breaking Dawn Part 1 and Breaking Dawn Part 2 are yet to be released, filming for the franchise finished in April and Lautner, 19, is looking to a post-Twilight, and post-teen idol, career. Abduction, a coming-of-age tale about a teenager, Nathan Price, who sees his face on a missing persons website, is his first step. Nathan’s discovery sparks a chain of events that has him on the run from a team of assassins and the CIA, all the time struggling to piece together his real identity. Designed as something of a junior Jason Bourne, the Abduction character was an opportunity for Lautner to show off martial arts training that had him earn his karate black belt by the age of eight. ”That was the icing,” Lautner says of the fight and stunt scenes in the film. ”The cake itself was that I knew this movie would challenge me physically and emotionally. ”I was very interested in Nathan’s journey.” From the first reading of the script, Lautner wanted to be involved in the film, which – despite a cast featuring Sigourney Weaver, Maria Bello and teen star Lily Collins as Nathan’s love interest – hinges on his performance. ”I would be lying if I said there wasn’t pressure,” he says. ”[But] as an actor, I couldn’t have done it without the amazing cast.” Lautner is hopeful his next film will be different again. Like his heroes, such as Tom Cruise, Matt Damon and Leonardo DiCaprio, Lautner plans to tackle all genres. “The actors I look up to have challenged themselves. That is what attracted me to this,” he says. ABDUCTION GENRE Action/drama. CRITICAL BUZZ One best left to teenage viewers and devotees of Taylor Lautner and his biceps, this film is action packed but falls a little flat in the drama department. When Taylor Lautner told us about his hot and heavy onscreen hookup with Lily Collins in Abduction, he left out one very important detail. He and Ms. Collins enjoyed an offscreen romance, too! How do we know? Sure, rumors have been swirling for months, but now their costar Denzel Whitaker has actually gone on the record about it. Here’s what he told us… READ: Taylor Lautner Naked in Abduction? “There Is an Intense Steamy Scene,” Star Says “It’s kind of like that teenage love in high school,” Whitaker said at last night’s Hollywood premiere of his latest flick, Warrior (more on that later!). “It was kind of like, ‘Let’s go on a date.’ They were willing to go bowling. It wasn’t all about the relationship, it was more about having fun with each other and I think any time that’s the premise of your couple, it’s going to go great.” Whitaker says he saw the sparks flying at the very first table read. “I think the chemistry’s naturally going to show [in the movie]…It was off set so it definitely came on set,” he said. As for that steamy scene, Whitaker said it takes place in a train. “I think all the fans of both parties are really going to love that,” he said. Yeah, especially since Whitaker also told E! News, “There are a few scenes without [Lautner's] shirt on.” One thing Whitaker couldn’t tell us was if Lautner and Collins are still an item. Lautner’s rep did not immediately comment.
