Via Deadline.com: Just in time for this week’s start of the Cannes Film Festival, Taylor Lautner has been set to star in Tracers, an action thriller that FilmNation Entertainment’s Glen Basner will unveil to international buyers. Directed by Daniel Benmayor (Bruc, The Manhunt), Tracers reunites Lautner with Twilight Saga producers Mary Bowen and Wyck Godfrey of Temple Hill Entertainment. WME is repping the domestic distribution rights.
Lautner will play Cam, a messenger in New York City who is a wiz on a bike but who’s in debt to an organized crime gang. He crashes his bike into a sexy stranger and is seduced by her and the thrill of the world of parkour that she introduces him to. The buzz has begun spreading on the film and there is bidding among a number of territories. It is also very possible that a domestic deal will be made quickly. ”We’ve had great successes making films for this audience and believe this project will continue our solid track record,” Bowen said. Godfrey added that “We had a remarkable experience with Taylor on Twilight and look forward to bringing Cam to life.” Lautner’s next pic, Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2, will be released November 16.

Aha! Our favorite ninja has been busy behind the scenes just as we suspected. His ascent up the side of Bella’s house in the Twilight Saga has led to another parkour film. Good to see he is working with Wyck again, too. Hopefully something to look forward to post BD2. ♥♥♥♥♥

YAY!! Literally starting happy dancing! LOL. I am soo happy for our Taylor, getting his head in the game. This movie seems really interesting, a movie I would love to go see. Yet another movie showing off his athletic skills but that’s what he’s best at; also it draws really big crowds in with the whole thriller action.
I am also happy he will be working with wyck again, love that he’s gonna work with someone he’s comfortable with.

Is he even going to Cannes? It seems like the production company is going to unveil the project in Cannes so it doesn’t seem far into the project and says nothing specific that he’s going. Maybe I’m just reading it wrong.

I just assumed he’d be going because he’s the big selling point. I remember Rob going to Cannes before RM started filming in order to sell it. I thought this was the same kind of situation.

I’m a little confused, too. What does “unveiled to international buyers” mean? Does it mean that it will be made regardless, or are they looking for investors to put money into it?
Whatever it turns out to be, I’m excited Taylor has another project in the works. This sounds like the sort of thing he would like b/c he will get to do lots of action/stunt things. It also sounds like his character might be a little darker than we’re used to (in debt to an organized crime gang). Exciting stuff!
He needs to get himself to Cannes and work his charm on those international industy people.

Pre-emptive strike alert: as per the last thread, some readers do not understand that many of us are in no way deluded enough to believe that Taylor could actually meet/date/etc any of us. We, or at least I, comment here for fun and to hopefully make someone smile. I attempt to make a least one person smile everyday. It’s been my quest for at least 30 years. Now that I’ve cleared that up…..
Kia darling….so happy you will keeping our guy company in Cannes. When packing, don’t forget the sunscreen, chocolate syrup and sprinkles. Since it looks like he will be needing to build up his stamina for the new movie, maybe you can start now with the training. Enjoy!

I think you might be able to make the argument for Isabella, considering it didn’t break the top 5 names until 2007 – after Twilight was published. But not so with Jacob. It’s been number 1 since 1999 and in top 5 since 1995. Maybe Stephanie was looking for inspiration back in the day. :)

IC the Robstenaters are having a Bitch Fit .Apparently somehow they believe his PR people paid Forbes and the people from Cannes (I’m trying not laugh) to keep his name in the spotlight and suddenly he have ruin there beloved couple moment so their stomping there feet and pouting and blaming Dan for all of this……I can’t even be mad because its to funny!

Rumors and speculation regarding scenes for the new Adam Sandler movie “Grownups 2″ being filmed in Tewksbury were confirmed this week.
The production crew will be filming at the Tewksbury KMart at least one day (May 23) next week and possibly more. It’s unclear, at this time, which of the cast members will be in Tewksbury for the shoot.
What is clear is that your child might have the chance to appear in the movie.

I wonder when he’ll leave for Cannes. The festival started yesterday, but it goes through next week. It’d be cool if he goes next week as that’s when Rob and Kristen will be there for their film premieres.

This is really so exciting! Not just that it’s a new project, but Cannes has so many amazing chances for Taylor to meet the right people. So many parties and events and premieres. We should be getting tons of gorgeous pictures once he gets there.

See! This is what I’m talking about! Taylor’s always nominated at the Teen Choice Awards hence “Teen.” This is a very good thing, everybody know he mostly attracts teens and young people in their twenties, as myself. For the older ladies, you’ll always be on the top list of his fanbase. ;)
I can already guess that he’ll win for Choice movie action and Choice movie actor action, he’s a shoe in. The CMA: Fantasy, I’m not sure about since Josh is also nominated, I doubt Rob is even any competition.
