So, who will represent Twilight at this year’s event?

Early reports speculate that Taylor Lautner and Nikki Reed will be on-hand to represent the Twilight Saga at this year’s event, but nothing has been confirmed just yet.

Kristen Stewart is busy preparing for the August production beginning of her newest project, Snow White And The Huntsman, and Robert Pattinson has been filming Cosmopolis in Toronto for the past few weeks. However, that’s not to say their schedules aren’t conducive to their attendance at August 5th’s Teen Choice Awards event.

In 2009, Pattinson, Stewart, Lautner, Lutz, and Jackson Rathbone were among those present from the Twilight group, and last year, Pattinson, Lautner, Greene, Rathbone, and Reed were all in attendance.

The other big nominations for the flick include two for Choice Movie: Liplock (for K-Stew’s kisses with both Lautner and RPattz), Bryce Dallas Howard for Choice Movie: Villain, Kellan Lutz for Choice Movie: Male Scene Stealer and Ashley Greene for Choice Movie: Female Scene Stealer.

But there are some other movies, TV shows and musicians vying for surfboards on August 7. “Glee,” “The Vampire Diaries,” “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1,” Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and “The Hangover Part II” all received nominations for the show, which airs on Fox.

Gomez and Swift face off against each other in the Choice Music: Love Song category for their songs “Love You Like a Love Song” and “Mine,” respectively. They are up against Allstar Weekend (“Come Down With Love”), Bruno Mars (“Just the Way You Are”) and Katy Perry (“Teenage Dream”).

Interestingly enough, exes Joe Jonas (who is also up for Choice Male Hottie) and Swift battle it out in the Choice Break-Up Song category. Swift is nominated for “Back to December” and Jonas for his solo single “See No More.” They go up against Adele (“Rolling in the Deep”), Cee Lo Green (“Forget You”) and Mars (“Grenade”).

The third time was the charm for three-time MTV Movie Awards Best Kiss winners Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart … or, at least, it should have been.

For the past two years, the “Twilight” stars have teased Movie Awards audiences with almost-kisses as they accepted their award. So on Sunday night (June 4), when presenters Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds announced that RPattz and KStew had won for their smooch in “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” it seemed this year’s show would finally bring the big moment fans have been waiting for. Well, er, it wasn’t.

“I feel bad because I don’t feel like kissing you,” Pattinson apologized to Stewart onstage. “You don’t want to kiss me, do you?”

Stewart, though, seemed more willing. “Well, it’s been a long time and I think maybe we should finally go for it,” she said to cheers from the crowd.

But Pattinson still wasn’t having it. “I just think there’s someone else in the audience who I think will appreciate it a little more,” he said.

Cue the camera cutting to a stone-faced Taylor Lautner.

“Go get him,” Stewart encouraged.

Pattinson then took to the Gibson Amphitheatre floor running. As the audience screamed in excitement, he leaned over and gave Lautner a full-on smooch on the lips as his werewolf co-star wrapped an arm around him. Of course, Lautner also wiped his mouth immediately after (too much tongue?), but Pattinson wasn’t done. Soon he was right back onstage going after Stewart — for real.

She squealed, “No!” and ran away laughing. “What? I want to take you back stage!” Pattinson said with a flirty grin. And the pair made their dramatic and hilarious exit … but still no kiss.

Thanks to “The Twilight Saga,” Taylor Lautner has a bit of a reputation for shirtlessness. At tonight’s MTV Movie Awards, “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” is up for eight tubs of Golden Popcorn, including Lautner’s nods for Best Male Performance and Best Kiss with Kristen Stewart.

Movie Awards supervising producer Jane Mun told MTV News that Lautner will certainly have people talking once the show wraps Sunday night thanks to a few surprises in store for the very toned actor — but will he lose his shirt?

“Um, I don’t know,” Mun teased. “I can’t spill the beans. You guys will have to see Taylor in a whole different light. He’s amazing.”

Lautner, along with Stewart and Robert Pattinson, will be on hand at the big show to present an exclusive trailer from “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” Once the trailer premieres at the Movie Awards, airing 9 p.m. ET/PT tonight on MTV, record your video reaction and upload it to Your.MTV.com. I’m not sure exactly why they positioned their camera on this particular spot, but above is the MTV Movie Awards’ Red Carpet. It allows you to see lots of people, listen to gibberish, and get a glimpse at how red the red carpet is.

Ah, there’s some screaming now. It could be Robert Pattinson or Kristen Stewart or Reese Witherspoon or perhaps someone who looks like Robert Pattinson or Kristen Stewart or Reese Witherspoon. Who can tell?

But who cares about movie stars when you can get to look at so many pretty palm trees all in a row?

The 2011 MTV Movie Awards will be broadcast live on the East Coast beginning at 9 p.m. ET. Among the nominees are The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, Inception, Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s fight with an anonymous Hallway Attacker, several of the 3D piranas, and assorted liplocks, including those between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman, and Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart.
The screaming just got way out of control. I think the 3D piranas have arrived.
