The average age of the presenters at tonight’s Oscar awards show declined with each announcement in the run-up to the telecast. Show producers, clearly attempting to woo potential teenage watchers, announced Miley Cyrus, Zac Efron, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner would appear on the program (Cyrus and Efron for the second time, Stewart and Lautner for the first). Presumably the baby from “The Hangover” is standing by as well, to bring in the all-important infant demographic.
Also announced to present are previous acting winners Sean Penn, Kate Winslet and Penelope Cruz.
And Elizabeth Banks, following in a grand tradition of Glamorous Young Female Stars Who Hope the Gig Will Lead to Better Oscar-Related Things (recently: Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Rachel McAdams), hosted the Scientific and Technical Academy Awards, awarding Oscars to 45 individuals who achieved enormously impressive things that I couldn’t begin to describe. (Fun fact: The last male to host the Scientific and Technical Awards was Tom Hanks, back in 1992.)

Not everyone is smitten with the Twilight crew.
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse earned nine nominations Monday – including acting nods for Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart – for the Razzie Awards, the anti-Oscars show that proudly recognizes the “worst achievement in film.”
Eclipse, which is also up for worst picture and worst screen ensemble, tied for the most nominations with M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender, another worst-picture nominee.
Rounding out the worst-picture category are The Bounty Hunter, Sex & the City 2 and the Twilight parody Vampires Suck.
Most of the acting nominees are not known as critically acclaimed performers. However, the worst supporting actress category includes three veteran Oscar winners: Cher for Burlesque, Liza Minnelli for Sex & the City 2, and Barbra Streisand for Little Fockers.

The Razzies will be handed out at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre in Hollywood on Feb. 26, the night before the Oscars.
This year’s Academy Award nominations – for outstanding achievement in movies – will be announced Tuesday morning.

We just read the press release and Taylor IS coming to the Peoples Choice Awards 2011. Airs January 5. Also attending is Kristen Stewart! Live coverage that night is expected!
Yes, yes, we all agree that Oprah was ah-may-zing, but if we had to pick our favourite overseas visitors for 2010 we can’t go past Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. The pair went on a month-long promotional tour for Eclipse and stopped in Sydney in June. The duo held a special Eclipse event at Luna Park and answered questions from fans. We hope the cast makes it Down Under again next year to promote Breaking Dawn!
