What with the Twilight Saga making the likes of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner like, stupidly famous, it’s no wonder that other actors are keen to jump on the bandwagon.

However, the latest actor isn’t some small time star, in fact he plays Chuck Bass in the hit show Gossip Girl.

In an interview with PopSugar, Ed joked that he should play the brother of Robert Pattinson’s Edward Cullen. “We should play brothers. Me and Rob Pattinson should play brothers….I’ll put the call in. Let’s do it. ”

However, before Ed “puts that call in”, maybe he should read the books because when he was asked about appearing in Breaking Dawn, he replied:

“Is that the next one?”

And he has yet to find out that Stephenie Meyer has only given Edward Cullen two brothers, who are already played by Kellan Lutz and Jackson Rathbone….

SAN DIEGO — For the first time since 2007, there was no official “Twilight” presence at the Comic-Con panels this year. But screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg was in attendance, and she was more than willing to take a break from the convention to chat with MTV News about her upcoming work on “Breaking Dawn.” The two films are set to start shooting back-to-back in November, and Rosenberg said she is still working on finalizing the script.

Fans have been most concerned with how Bella’s (Kristen Stewart) pivotal, not to mention traumatic, birthing scene will be portrayed in the movie, and Rosenberg said she and director Bill Condon are continually revising the script to make it work. Despite an earlier comment, she said the scene will be included, but the specifics of how it will be represented have not been solidified yet.

“I’ve written and continue to rewrite it, working on it with Bill Condon … He has a vision as well, but it’s kind of a shared vision I would say, but ultimately it comes down to, what does he actually want to see?” she said. “I know what I want to see, which is, I want to see the terror of the experience. I want to have the experience of the fear and feel her pain. I want to feel everyone’s pain in this.”

Still, Rosenberg said that there are some of the gruesome elements of the scene — like Edward (Robert Pattinson) having to give Bella what has been dubbed a “vampire caesarian” — that she doesn’t think need to be included in the scene. “I want it to be visceral, so that is what’s most important. Do I want to see teeth in placenta? No,” she said. “Someone else may. I don’t actually want to see that, but to each his own.”

Another of the other big scenes in “Breaking Dawn” that has been the subject of some controversy is the imprinting scene. It features Jacob (Taylor Lautner) having what Rosenberg describes as a “spiritual experience” with Bella’s newborn child that ultimately leads to the revelation that the infant is his soul mate.

“One must be very careful with that,” Rosenberg said about the scene, “but hopefully you’ve taken this ride with Jacob for all four movies; you know Jacob, and so I think you’ll experience it the way he does, which is spiritually, as a spiritual experience, as an emotional experience and not something that makes one uncomfortable.”

Eric Leven, visual effects supervisor for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, talked to Collider.com’s Steve Weintraub about a great many things – including Eclipse wolf designs, Eclipse collectibles, and more – and one of the things he mentioned is the possibility that the FX crew for Eclipse would come back for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.

“Yeah we’ve started talking with them and obviously we want to work with them again . . . we’re having a good time working with those people,” he explained, describing his experience with studio, cast, and crew over the past two films to be a familial situation. “We like the wolves, we like working with them, we like figuring out how to make them interact with the actors.”

If they were to come back for Breaking Dawn, though, there are a lot of considerations to be made, and Leven explained his belief that it will be a matter of directorial collaboration.

“In an ideal situation, they would have sort of an idea of what they want and we would make that a reality . . . they’re relatively low budget movies . . . We’re hoping to work with the direction team sort of collaboratively.”

The sequences that a visual effects supervisor would have to be involved with in Breaking Dawn are vast – particularly those relating to the second portion of the book, so it’ll be interesting to see whether the team at Tippett Studios, Eric Level included, comes back for the film and what direction director Bill Condon takes the wolves, the vampires, and the stunts.

‘I can’t say for a fact, but I just don’t see us getting into an R-rated area,’ studio’s distribution chief tells MTV News. In the “Twilight” universe, there are levelheaded questions — will “Breaking Dawn” be in 3-D? — and then are the improbable, yet intriguing, ones. Among the more puzzling queries is whether, based on the many scream-inducing elements of its source material, “Breaking Dawn,” will draw an R rating instead of the usual, Twi-approved PG-13.

It’s hard to imagine Summit Entertainment making a “Twilight” movie that would require its tween-heavy audience to convince adults to buy them movie tickets, but the idea nonetheless remains a topic of discussion in the blogosphere. So we decided to put the question to Summit. While the studio acknowledges that discussions about an R rating are definitely taking place (“By all means,” said distribution chief Richie Fay), the studio remains committed to its tried-and-true PG-13.

“I don’t see it ever becoming an R-rated movie,” Fay told MTV News. “The middle road we have to travel is a mutual respect as to staying true to the book but not turning off your audience.

“It’s always with the eye of making Stephenie Meyer happy and making the audience happy,” he added. “I can’t say for a fact, but I just don’t see us getting into an R-rated area with any of the ‘Twilight’ titles.”

That sentiment jibes with what “Breaking Dawn” scribe Melissa Rosenberg has been saying for a while.

“In this series, you don’t sacrifice anything,” she said in April. “There are some movies that wouldn’t play at PG-13, like ‘The Hangover,’ but this is just not one of them for me. Again, if you’re capturing character, emotion and emotional journey, you’re OK.”

Summit Entertainment’s THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN will be filmed in both Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Vancouver over the next year starting this fall. The next chapter of THE TWILIGHT SAGA will be released as two separate films with the first of the two slated to be released in theatres on November 18, 2011.

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions.

In June, Summit Entertainment announced that “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” will be released as two separate films, with the first part arriving on November 18, 2011. Though no release date for the second part has been announced, the conventional wisdom has been that the second part would follow in the summer of 2012.

Not so fast. Summit distribution chief Richie Fay told MTV News that no such decision has been made and that the studio is still exploring multiple release dates, not just ones in the summer.

“We’ve targeted a number of dates, and we have yet to determine when it will happen,” Fay said. “We haven’t even determined that it will be the summer. It’s still the source of discussions.”

Of course, studios always explore various release dates for pictures, especially established blockbusters, and the fact that Summit hasn’t committed the second “Breaking Dawn” to the summer season shouldn’t be mistaken for confusion or indecision within studio headquarters.

But the 2012 summer movie calendar is rapidly filling up, not necessarily with films that widely share an audience with “Breaking Dawn,” but with established franchises or properties in their own right. That May will offer “The Avengers,” “Madagascar 3″ and “Men in Black 3,” while June delivers a “Star Trek” sequel. The rebooted “Spider-Man” has already nabbed the July 4th slot (occupied this year by “Eclipse”), followed closely by another “Ice Age” and a third “Batman.”

Surely there’s room here for “Breaking Dawn,” but Summit now has experience releasing “Twilight” movies both in the summer and the fall. And, as Fay says, the studio might not be ready to pick a season for “Breaking Dawn” until “Eclipse” finishes up its theatrical run.

“We might have a preference when we see where ‘Eclipse’ ends up,” he said of choosing one season over another. “It certainly might color our thinking, but we’re comfortable with either place. Right now, it’s a bit early in that stage of planning.”

Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, who has penned all three Twilight movies to date, says the last two movies in the series will be “sexier” than the previous ones. She spoke about Edward Cullen and Bella Swan’s sex scene, calling it “way hot,” although still suitable for children to watch. “Breaking Dawn will be sexier,” Melissa promises. She told E! Online. “I think we can get awfully sexy with a PG-13, I’m not worried about the rating. I know a lot of fans are like, ‘We have to go R to do it justice,’ but I don’t think so. I think it’s going to be pretty hot. Way hot!”

Meanwhile, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart have signed deals that will see them earning $25 million plus 7.5 percent profit for the final two films in the series. If the Breaking Dawn films do as well as New Moon, which made $710 million worldwide, the three actors could make an additional $16 million each.

After only five days in the theatres, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse has taken in more than $160 million US, to say nothing of its international gross.

While that’s good news for Summit Entertainment, it’s even better news for the film’s three big stars, because it means that Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner will all earn a massive payday for the saga’s final two instalments.

According to New York Magazine, the three will each receive $25 million US for Breaking Dawn, Parts 1 and 2, and as if that weren’t enough, they’ll also receive 7.5 per cent against the films’ gross revenue. Going by conservative estimates, it means that once they’re done sparkling, exuding angst and falling in love with vampire babies, the three actors will probably earn about $41 million US each for the last two films.

But, as screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg told E! News, they will definitely earn their paycheques in Breaking Dawn. The Breaking Dawn screenwriter promised the final films will be much steamier than its predecessors, despite their anticipated PG-13 ratings.

“It will be sexier,” Rosenberg said. “I think we can get sexy with a PG-13. I’m not worried about the rating. I know a lot of fans are saying, ‘We need to go R to do it justice,’ but I don’t think so. I think it’s going to be pretty hot.”

As for the potential Bree Tanner spinoff films, Rosenberg doesn’t know if she’ll be involved.

“It’s really up to Stephenie [Meyer],” she said. “If she wants to tell more stories, I, as a reader, am hungry for them. I am probably done adapting,” Rosenberg said. “It’s probably time for me to do something else, but never say never. Adapting Stephenie Meyer is a hell of a life. It’s been wonderful.”

Once “Eclipse” hits theaters at midnight, there will only be one book left in “The Twilight Saga” to mine for the big screen. But thanks to Summit Entertainment’s decision to split “Breaking Dawn” into two films, fans can look forward to two more installments of their beloved franchise.

It’s a decision that was universally embraced not just by fans of the series, but by several of the films’ stars as well — like Taylor Lautner, for instance.

“I definitely think it was the right thing to do, for the movie and for the book,” Lautner told MTV News of the “Breaking Dawn” split. “It’s hard enough to condense 500 pages into a script, but to condense 800 and everything that’s going on in ‘Breaking Dawn,’ it would have been impossible.”

Lautner will spend his summer shooting the lead role in the action/thriller “Abduction,” but he returns to the role of hunky werewolf Jacob Black when the cameras roll on “Breaking Dawn” in the fall. Already a veteran of the “Twilight” franchise, Lautner confessed that there are elements of “Breaking Dawn” that have him a bit on edge.

“It’s the part I’m most looking forward to and the part I’m most nervous about: Renesmee, the baby,” he said, referring to the vampire baby spawned by Edward and Bella. Upon Renesmee’s birth, Jacob finds himself inexplicably drawn to the baby, effectively ending his feud with Edward over Bella’s heart. “That should be very interesting to film. But I’m looking forward to it! I’ve got the direction of Bill Condon, so I’ll be fine.”

Speaking of Condon, Lautner said he’s already met the recently appointed “Breaking Dawn” director. “I met him briefly, very quickly, but not about ‘Breaking Dawn.’ He seems like a very nice guy,” the actor said. “Obviously, he’s ridiculously talented, so I’m excited that I’m getting to work with him twice.”

As the shoot date on “Breaking Dawn” draws ever nearer, there are fewer and fewer questions about the film left to answer. One question that lingers, however, is whether it will be released in 3-D.

“Usually, 3-D is best when it takes you into another world,” he explained. “I could see it going both ways. As long as we have the story line down and as long as we bring what was written on the pages in the book to life, then we’ll be fine no matter what we do.”

“The funny thing is, our directors are so different from one another,” Lautner told MTV News. “I didn’t have the opportunity to work with Catherine that much, but she was amazing. She’s very smart and so creative.”

Back in November, Lautner called Weitz’s directorial style “flawless,” and months later, his opinion of the man has not changed. “Chris was phenomenal — his sensibility. He’s so sensitive,” the 18-year-old said. “It really matched ‘New Moon’ ‘s feel.”

And while Lautner has fond feelings for that film, “Eclipse” is his favorite, if only because it has the most action. “David brought his darker, cooler, more dangerous feel to ‘Eclipse,’ which was awesome,” Lautner said.

Finally, there are the two parts of “Breaking Dawn,” which will begin filming in the fall. Lautner hasn’t yet had a chance to sit down with Condon to talk about the series, but he can’t wait for the opportunity.

“I met him briefly,” Lautner said. “Very quickly. Not about ‘Breaking Dawn.’ He seems like a very nice guy. Obviously ridiculously talented, so I’m excited I get to work with him twice.”

It is known by all TwiHards that in the next two Breaking Dawn films Jacob Black and Seth Clearwater, are pretty much inseparable! So Booboo better get used to the Twilight chaos!

Entertainment Weekly sat down with Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner for a feature interview running in this week’s magazine to discuss the world they inhabit within the Twilight universe — both on screen and off. The three young stars opened up about coping under the glare of intense media spotlight, how they rely on one another to pull through, what they think of the upcoming final movie, Breaking Dawn, what lies ahead once the franchise wraps, and much more. In this preview, the three stars talk about gearing up for the final chapter of the saga that has changed each of their lives forever.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: You guys are about to start shooting the two Breaking Dawn movies back to back. You signed on to this franchise before Breaking Dawn was written. When you read it, were you thinking, How is this going to be turned into a movie?
KRISTEN STEWART: Yeah, definitely. What is Renesmee going to look like? Is it going to be this little teeth-baby running around? It’s going to be weird.
ROBERT PATTINSON: [Laughs] “Little teeth-baby.”
STEWART: Yeah, but I think it’s going to be cool. One of the main objectives of the series is to get Bella to a point where she’s mature enough to make such a hefty decision, and she goes through a lot. In the fourth one, she is going to become a wife. She is going to become a mom. She is going to become an adult and a vampire. To do it so young, it needs to be believable. So I’m really excited about playing that.

Some people read Breaking Dawn as very pro-life and Mormon because Bella decides to have her baby even though it’s endangering her life. Did any of that bother you when you read the book?
STEWART: No, because it made sense. Not wanting to give up the baby is about her holding onto that last thing that she would have to give up if she was not human anymore. Right after she and Edward sleep with each other for the first time, she says, “Oh, f***, I might want to be human for a little bit longer.” The baby is just an even more intense version of that.
PATTINSON: I think people make up all these Mormon references just so they can publish Twilight articles in respectable publications like the New York Times. Even Stephenie [Meyer, author of the Twilight novels] said it doesn’t mean any of that. It is based on a dream.

The Breaking Dawn movies are the last in the series. How do you feel about all of this coming to a conclusion soon?
STEWART: In terms of shooting them, they’re almost done. We’re going to be done by March.
TAYLOR LAUTNER: It will be so weird, the last day of filming that last movie.
STEWART: It will be sad, too. It’s been one of the most crazy, indulgent experiences as an actor, to be able to follow a character for this long.
LAUTNER: I think stopping will be very weird.
STEWART: It will just feel like a chapter has been closed.
LAUTNER: A big chapter.
STEWART: I’m going to be like, “But wait, there’s this scene…”

Jumping forward to Breaking Dawn, where are you in the scripting stage now?

Deep in the center. Kind of right in the first draft mode, dead center in the middle I’d say. Of both [parts]. I’m kind of writing them simultaneously — writing both outlines and then writing both first drafts because we’re shooting them together. [The producers] need things to prep off of, because they have to find locations, so in some ways I’ve been treating it as one film, but on two different pieces of paper. It’s a huge challenge. It’s a lot of pages!

Where exactly do you envision splitting Breaking Dawn into two parts?

We’re still talking about specifically where, but I think there’s kind of a natural break. You have the first half about Bella being human and a newlywed and pregnant, and the second half is about her being a vampire and a parent. I think somewhere in that transition is where it breaks. We’ve tried a couple of things and I think we’re settling on one, [but] we’re not sure.

You and I spoke before about how you stay true to the gory events of Breaking Dawn without going beyond a PG-13 rating. Is that any more of an issue, now that you’re writing it?

You know, I just don’t find that to be a challenge at all, honestly. I worked on Dexter, and I’ve said that pint for pint, there’s more blood on CSI than there is on Dexter, and yet Dexter is far more disturbing. So I think it’s not about how much gore you see on screen, it’s more about, are you conveying the terror of the scene, the physical pain of the scene? The tension of the scene? I don’t think you need to see gore to know what’s going on, and in some ways I think that’s actually more interesting. And I think that’s true for sex as well. I think the hottest sex scenes I’ve ever seen are more suggestive than they are graphic. So I don’t have an issue with it; I think we can do absolutely everything without having to see specific things.

Just so you know, certain fans of age would like to see lots of pillow-biting and feathers…

[Laughs] Okay! I think they may see some feathers. They may, indeed, see a few feathers.

The much anticipated casting and auditions process for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” is now getting underway in Los Angeles, on the heels of the world premiere of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”, which will take place in Los Angeles on Thursday, June 24th.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn will be released as two separate movies, Breaking Dawn Part I has a release date of November 18, 2011, and a summer 2012 release for Breaking Dawn Part II is being targeted. Director Bill Condon will shoot the two films back to back.

Breaking Dawn II will be released in 3-D, however no decision has been announced about Part I. A 3-D film can be created in two ways. One is to process the film in post-production editing using CGI for 3-D effects. The other method is to shoot the film with special 3-D cameras, such as the film Avatar was done using Sony HDC-F950 3-D cameras. It is not known which method Condon will use, but it is highly likely he will shoot using the special 3-D cameras since the effects are far superior.

Filming begins November 2010, and it now appears likely that shooting will take place in the state of Louisiana. There is a very large amount of filming that takes place in Louisiana due to the large tax credits that the state offers the studios. Louisiana offers a 30% transferable incentive for total in-state expenditures related to the production of a motion picture. The budget on both parts of Breaking Dawn will be substantially greater than the previous installments in the series, therefore Summit Entertainment would benefit greatly by filming in Louisiana, and low key negotiations with the state film commission are taking place.

Circling back onto the conversation about whether The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn should be 3-D, a new interview FearNET’s Jen Yamato had with Wyck Godfrey (producer of Twilight, Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and, of course, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn) brings forth some of the behind-the-scenes conversations being waged about the idea.

In the interview, Yamato asked Godfrey whether the employment of 3-D technology was still being considered by the Twilight filmmakers.

“We have considered it, and everything’s being discussed, but I know that part of a way to differentiate the two movies would be to have one be in 2D, and when she becomes a vampire we move into 3D. But we haven’t really gotten far enough to decide what we’re going to do. I’m of two minds of it, frankly, and I think everyone is; I don’t want to chase the format if it’s not organic and appropriate. If we think it is, we will,” he told her.

During the extensive conversations we’ve had on this site about the concept of a 3-D Breaking Dawn, most fans have agreed that Bella’s experience as a vampire may work well in 3-D but that the earlier sequences absolutely should not be. That said, do Godfrey’s statements here encourage you? If you’re agreeable to this position, you may also be interested in what Godfrey told her about the filmmakers’ plans for the earlier portions of Breaking Dawn – particularly the birthing scene.

“I think the one thing that we’ve done that we’ve really done in all the films is keep them very subjective and keep them from Bella’s point of view. So the conversations we’ve had with Bill, is that we’ll try to do something similar here; you’re with Bella’s perspective and her point of view of what’s taking place in the rush around her, as she’s in intense pain. Not so focused, objectively, on her body and his body and that. So I think it’ll be something like that, in terms of trying to make the audience experience and feel the confusion, almost, of what’s happening to her,” he explained.

Twilight Saga: New Moon,” zilch for “Avatar,” visually insane dance numbers, gut-busting parodies and so much more, the 2010 MTV Movie Awards made for a wildly hilarious, frequently emotional and shockingly vulgar night.

The evening kicked off with media mogul Les Grossman, who lived up to his fiery reputation by pushing popular actors like Will Smith and Michael Cera down some surprising new career paths. One such idea was “Bad Ass Cops,” a police-themed action adventure starring “Twilight” leading men Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.

But Grossman’s time in the spotlight was quickly yanked away by host Aziz Ansari, who followed up with some segments of his own, including one that put him in the tragic shoes of Claireece “Precious” Jones. The host finally took the stage thanks to an introduction made by music sensation Justin Bieber, prompting Ansari to launch into an opening comedy act that set the tone for the rest of the hilarious evening.

Part of Ansari’s monologue dwelled on the pervasive popularity of “Twilight,” a notion that was decisively affirmed when Kristen Stewart kicked off the awards portion of the show by winning Best Female Performance for her portrayal of Bella Swan in the supernatural-romance franchise. Even the award for Breakthrough Performance went to Anna Kendrick, who won for “Up in the Air” but got her break in the “Twilight Saga.” Presenters and “Get Him to the Greek” co-stars Jonah Hill and Russell Brand embarked on an epic Team Jacob vs. Team Edward debate that left Sean “Diddy” Combs fully confused.

That wasn’t the only hilarious moment from the “Greek” stars, as Hill and Brand engaged in a full-on lip-locking assault during a special Kiss Cam segment that also claimed Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens. But the most memorable kiss of the evening belonged to Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson, as they shared a quick smooch during Bullock’s acceptance of the Generation Award.

Indeed, Bullock’s acceptance speech was one of the highlights of the evening, marking her first major public appearance since news broke of husband Jesse James’ infidelity. To that end, Bullock wanted to clear the air on certain rumors: She is not dead, everyone has cellulite “not just me,” and paparazzi photographers need more flattering lenses. Taking a more serious tone, Bullock emphasized that even in light of her Generation Award, something that typically goes to “old people” as they wind down their careers, as she put it, she has no plans of leaving the spotlight.

“No matter what you might have heard or read lately, I love what I do, and I’m not going anywhere,” she said, adding that everyone in the audience should say a prayer for those affected by the oil spill in the Gulf.

Her emotional speech was matched only by “The Hangover” actor Ken Jeong’s own acceptance of the Best WTF Moment award. Jeong broke down in tears recounting his wife’s battle with breast cancer. “She taught me that life is short and you shouldn’t be afraid to take chances,” the choked-up Jeong announced, happily revealing that his wife has been cancer-free for two years now.

Beyond Bullock and Jeong’s heartfelt speeches, the show featured some very different but no less intense moments, thanks to performances of Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg’s “California Gurls,” Christina Aguilera’s medley of songs from her upcoming album Bionic (complete with a glowing heart on her underwear) and the return of Les Grossman in a shockingly well-choreographed dance number opposite Jennifer Lopez.

But the biggest laughs of the night came from Team Aziz. The host provided viewers with a terrific “Human Giant” reunion alongside Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer in a sketch titled “Stunt Kidz.” He also appeared as Taavon, a tough-as-nails swagger coach (who can only sit on purple chairs) hired to impart swagger tips to comedian Zach Galifianakis, an effort that paid off, as the “Hangover” comedian ultimately won the award for Best Comedic Performance. Ansari as Taavon accepted the award on Galifianakis’ behalf.

Ansari also paved the way for one of the most foulmouthed Movie Awards in the ceremony’s history. Following Bullock’s acknowledgement of the oil spill in the Gulf region, Ansari wildly shouted “f— you, BP” numerous times as he sang an R. Kelly-style tribute to “Avatar.” But his filthy language paled in comparison to Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell’s, as the stars of “The Other Guys” dangled from the theater’s ceiling, frantically cursing at their situation.

The incessant swearing of the show’s many guests didn’t go unnoticed by actor Peter Facinelli. While accepting the Best Movie award for “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” Carlisle Cullen dropped some F-bombs of his own and two of them managed to slip past the censors, to the surprise of many.

Less surprising, to Ansari at least, was the virtual awards sweep made by “New Moon.” The host may have over-exaggerated by declaring that ” ‘Twilight’ won everything,” but the franchise’s second installment did emerge as the evening’s greatest winner with victories in the Best Movie, Best Male Performance, Best Female Performance, Best Kiss and Global Star categories. “The Hangover” was the second most successful film with wins for Best Comedic Performance and Best WTF Moment, while “Avatar” walked away without a single award to its name.

The “Twilight” gang loves Chris Weitz. There’s no doubting that. In the run-up to the release of the Weitz-helmed “New Moon,” Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner spoke effusively about working with the director, even hoping he might reprise his role behind the camera for “Breaking Dawn.”

Weitz ended up declining the opportunity to bring the final book in the vampire series to the big screen, but he remains flattered that the cast supports him and even has a bit of advice for “Breaking Dawn” director Bill Condon (“Dreamgirls”).

“That’s very sweet,” Weitz told MTV News when reminded of how the cast has championed him. “I think that’s because I was the last person who directed them.”

Weitz, who led “New Moon” to more than $700 million in worldwide box-office receipts, is confident that Condon is the right man to step into the director’s chair for “Breaking Dawn.” “I think he’s terribly talented,” Weitz said. “I know him, he’s a solid citizen, great guy, very smart. I think he’s going to do an amazing job.”

His one piece of advice? “Think carefully about babies clawing out of people’s stomachs,” Weitz said in reference to one scene in the book, going on to refer to an even more famous scene in 1979′s “Alien.” “[Director] Ridley Scott sort of did it.”

Weitz added with a laugh, “Kristen Stewart giving live birth through the stomach in 3-D! I’m there. I’m paying.”

And he’d be happy to pay for not just one film, but two. It has long been rumored that “Breaking Dawn” will be split into two flicks. That’s a move Weitz endorses.

“The book is big enough that it would warrant it,” he said.

It would be lunacy for anyone (even if not a fan of the Twilight franchise) to think for a second that Summit Entertainment would let go of the golden eggs that are Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner (and surely Kristen Stewart, by company).

But it seems that the production of the two-part (how Harry Potter!) Breaking Dawn may be stalling because many of the cast members want more mula.

There are rumors flying that the supporting cast is asking for more money, specifically Kellan Lutz. It seems the actor is the one that is holding off the most because negotiations for a bigger chunk in the next films aren’t getting anywhere.

It seems that Summit is willing to give the main three anything they ask for (as they should) but with the other ones wanting to make the best of the situation, the company is allegedly willing to lose one cast member in order to keep the other ones contained.

Word is that they are going to fire one of the actors to make a point. And more specific word is that it happens to be Lutz.

Moviehole brings us this exclusive info about upcoming films for Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. If you have been wondering about those Wanted 2 rumors, Kristen doesn’t exactly answer the question, but she doesn’t deny it either (she’s so good at avoiding questions!). Also, Taylor talks about when Stretch Armstrong is expected to film.

In addition to discussing “Eclipse” and the upcoming “Breaking Dawn” (“I can’t wait to see Renesmee!”, said Kristen; “We have a very good director behind us who can help with that” added Taylor), I also had the opportunity to quiz Stewart on those “Wanted 2″ rumours and get a “Stretch Armstrong” update out of the wonderfully-ribbed Lautner.
Stewart was rumoured to be replacing Angelina Jolie in “Wanted 2″ a few weeks back. One almost expected her to laugh off the rumours – but funnily enough, she didn’t.
“Right now, I have two projects lined up”, Stewart, coyly, responded. “I’m doing On the Road this Summer and then I’m doing Breaking Dawn. So other than that I have nothing ‘nailed down’.”
Doesn’t sound like a denial to me!
Of his future projects, Lautner said “Stretch Armstrong”, based on the toy line, is happening but “it’s not happening for a while though, about a year from now. I’m doing a movie called Abduction which starts in about a month. Then Breaking Dawn. And hopefully Stretch after that”.
Wow, “Stretch Armstrong” is a long ways off – let’s hope it doesn’t fall by the wayside (like the “Max Steel” movie that Lautner was going to do, did!).

Notice that the press release is carefully crafted so as not to confirm the big three – Robert Pattinson Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner. All accounts of their contract negotiations situation, though, have been positive, so it’s probably just a matter of paperwork for those three at this point. In other words, they’ll still be in the movie (of course!), but they probably can’t be confirmed on paper til the writing’s on the wall.

GRAND RAPIDS — Wouldn’t be cool if Taylor Lautner could show off his native Michigan to co-stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart while filming “Breaking Dawn” — the fourth and final installment of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series?

Janet Lockwood, director of the Michigan Film Office, says her staff will contact the production company to suggest the Mitten State as a potential film location. Filming is planned for this fall with a 2011 release date, according to imdb.com.

“We would love to have them film here,” said Lockwood. “The film locations would become tourism sites for people who are fans of the movies and books.”

If there is any truth to the rumor floating around that Louisiana is being considered because of its generous film tax incentives, Michigan might have a shot.

Percentage-wise, Michigan’s incentives — which offer up to a 42 percent tax break — are higher than Louisiana’s 25 percent tax break. This Gulf Coast state also throws in an additional 10 percent for crew hired from the state, Lockwood said.

But Michigan caps its tax credits for salaries at $2 million, which isn’t the case in Louisiana, she said.
“Even though we give a higher percentage, (filmmakers) can make a bigger rebate in Louisiana,” Lockwood said.

There might be some terrain issues with Michigan filling in for the northern Washington town of Forks, the setting of the teenage vampire love story. Michigan’s forests lack the peaks of the northwest.

Although none of the first three films were made in Washington, they were filmed in surrounding Pacific Northwest. Twilight was made in Oregon while New Moon and the soon-to-be-released Eclipse were filmed in Vancouver, Canada.

What Michigan lacks in mountains, it makes up in sandy beaches which could be perfect for the tropical island setting where vampire Edward Cullen and his bride Bella honeymoon.

“We could play the Caribbean easily,” Lockwood said. The only problem is filming wouldn’t begin until after summer.

Percy “Romeo” Miller has been quite the jack-of-all-trades in the last couple years, juggling music and acting careers with playing basketball and being a student at the University of Southern California.

When MTV News caught up to the multi-hyphenate to find out what film is his pick for Best Movie at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, he revealed a bit of a bias — because he’s in talks for a part in “Breaking Dawn.”

“The one thing is, I might be in the last ‘Twilight,’ so I’m going to have to go with ['New Moon' to win over 'Avatar'],” he said, ready to give Team Edward and Team Jacob a fight. “That’s a little secret out there to all the ladies. Will y’all be Team Romeo?”

Romeo said he’s talking about taking on a small role in the last of a possible two films being made out of Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling book. “We’re talking to some of the executive producers right now,” he said. “It’s a small [role], but you might see me in there.”

The former Nickelodeon star said he’s ready to give muscled-up werewolf Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) some competition. “I’ve been working on my physique, I’m getting ready,” he said proudly, lifting up his sleeve to show off a bicep. “Team Romeo is here, baby.”

All Twilight fans must have known by now that the final Twilight installment, “Breaking Dawn” will be directed by none other than Oscar winning director Bill Condon. He is the man behind the Oscar nominated movie “Dreamgirls” and who wrote the screenplay for Oscar-winning movie “Chicago”.

With the huge success of the first two Twilight series, Summit entertainment was able to rope in the famous director hoping that he might be able to take the franchise to new heights with his talent and expertise. And it’s definitely a big opportunity for the Twilight stars, namely Robert Pattinson Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, to hone their acting skills.

But Bill Condon is already impressed by their star power and has lauded the trio in his blog post on FaceBook , he wrote: “I’m a huge admirer of the already-iconic Kristen, Robert, and Taylor, and wanted to be the one to work with them as they face the challenges of bringing your beloved characters to the end of their journeys. Really, what could be more fun than that?

The director also mentioned that he is “stoked” about the Twilight project and that he has done is homework by reading “Breaking Dawn” twice, and watching the previous installments two to three times.

Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz have closed deals to reup their roles in the next Twilight movie, “Breaking Dawn.”

Greene and Lutz signed contracts last nights, acccording to sources close to the deal.

Movie studio Summit Entertainment, which has made billions off the franchise, had been in negotiations with the two supporting characters since last week, but the two actors reportedly wanted pay increases for the next movie since the studio did not allow them to renegotiate on the second and third films.

Summit caved in after the two actors held out for more cash. “The studio realized how valuable Ashley and Kellan are to the franchise and did what they needed to do to keep them,” said a source close to the situation. Reports said the kids have been trying to score paydays of $1.5 million. Sources said they two will receive close to that amount to continue on in their roles. “It was a good deal,” said the source.

The money is still much lower than what Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are supposedly pulling in.

“Breaking Dawn” will be the fourth and fifth movies of the Twilight franchises.

So, what does she think will come of the negotiations? “It could turn ugly. Do [these actors] deserve more money? Probably they do, on one level. But if everybody makes so much money, then … it’s complicated,” she added. “What a mess!

Just remember, it’s not just the actors. They have a lot of reps. making decisions for them.

Catherine Hardwicke, director of the first Twilight film, who was closely involved in casting the ensemble of actors, is under no illusions about the seriousness of the current salary dispute involving Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz.

“It would really break my heart if they were replaced, but it could happen. Things could turn ugly quickly,” Hardwicke, 54, said this weekend at the Twilight Convention in Vancouver.

Cullen kids Lutz, 25, and Greene, 23, reportedly had a three-picture deal, which expired, and are trying to score paydays of about $1.5 million as work begins on the next installment, Breaking Dawn. But Hardwicke says the young actors might not even be all that involved in the negotiations.

“They have all these people and outside influences telling you what to do,” Hardwicke said. “They tell you to hold out for this much because you’re such an important part of the franchise, and everyone is telling you to ask for more.”

But it’s a dangerous game, she adds – pointing to the case of Rachelle Lefevre, who was replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard for Eclipse. “A lot of stuff can get mishandled and misunderstood,” she said. “That is what happened with Rachelle Lafevre.”

Do they actually deserve more money? Hard to say. “Probably they do deserve more money, on one level,” Hardwicke says. “But if everybody makes so much money then … [shrugs]. It is very complicated. Oh my, it is such a mess. I really hope they can sort it out because it would be a shame to lose any actors.”

Shocking casting drama in the Twilight universe. And yes, it involves dreamy Robert Pattinson, hunky Taylor Lautner and frail Kristen Stewart.Well, sort of.

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that when Summit Entertainment decided to split the last Twilight book, Breaking Dawn into two films, it sparked something of a contractual tsunami. Locking down the three titans mentioned above for an additional film sent the cost of the last chapter skyrocketing. THR says Peter Facinelli (who plays Carlisle Cullen) and Billy Burke (Bella’s father, Charlie Swan) have already signed deals with Summit, but when it comes to those who play the Cullen kids (especially Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene), they’re making demands for paychecks that Summit isn’t quite prepared to write.

No doubt Summit is feeling the pressure, to maintain the integrity of this big-screen fantasy universe, to preserve the credibility of Stephenie Meyer’s vision in film form. But here’s betting that as long as they have a girl, a werewolf and a vampire, the legions of girls will be too busy swooning to notice the B-list substitutions.

Apparently The Twilight Saga will no longer call Vancouver home when shooting begins on the fourth installment Breaking Dawn, to be directed by Dreamgirls’ Bill Condon. According to unnamed sources (I feel so cool saying that, like I’m a spy or something instead of just a dork with a laptop) the next Twilight film just couldn’t say no to the financial benefits of moving production from Vancity and the Pacific Province to the Pelican State (it was a Big Easy decision… ah, that’s why I’m not a spy and instead just a huge dork).
